Corvette Confirms GT1 Championship Defense
Corvette Racing officials have announced the perennial championship winning team will return to the American Le Mans Series in 2007 to defend its GT1 drivers, team and manufacturers crown in North America’s leading sports car series. In addition, plans are underway for another assault on this year’s 24Â Hours of Le Mans.
Audi Unveils Plans for Title Defense with R10 TDI
Allan McNish and Dindo Capello have been given the opportunity to retain their American Le Mans Series LMP1 championship in 2007 as Audi AG announced its full-season lineup and program with the diesel-powered R10 TDI. Audi Sport North America will field two of the revolutionary cars for all 12 rounds of the 2007 season, starting with the 55th annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
Audi to Defend 2006 LMP1 Series Championship
The North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan is the largest auto show this side of the globe, perhaps the world. Kumho, Intersport Join Forces for 2007 Season
Eager to compete again for class wins and championships in the American Le Mans Series, Intersport Racing and Kumho Tire USA will team together in the Series’ highly competitive LMP2 class for the 2007 season. The Kumho-shod, AER-powered Intersport Lola B05/40 will turn its first competitive laps at the 55th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring on March 17.

A year after achieving landmark victories at Sebring and Le Mans in 2006, Panoz now has its eyes set on the American Le Mans Series GT2 championship with two of the most respected and well-known names in sports car racing.
Bergmeister Joins Flying Lizard Lineup For 2007
With an eye toward contending for another GT2 championship in the American Le Mans Series, Flying Lizard Motorsports has signed two-time class title winner Jorg Bergmeister for the full 2007 season. Bergmeister, GT2 champion in 2005 and 2006, will join Johannes van Overbeek in the team’s No. 45 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR.
Dyson Racing and Porsche Partners Again
Porsche and endurance sports car racing; Dyson Racing and Porsche: synonymous phrases. Dyson Racing and Porsche are back together: the Thetford/Norcold team will be running two LMP2 RS Spyders in the American Le Mans Series in 2007.
Early Le Mans Invites Have Strong Series Flavor
Ten entries from the American Le Mans Series are among the first 24 invitees to the 75th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world’s most prestigious auto race. The twice-around-the-clock event is scheduled for June 16-17 at the Circuit de la Sarthe.
Bergmeister, Audi Duo Secure All-America Honors
Beretta and Gavin, who retained their GT1 drivers championship, were second-team selections last year, and their performance in 2006 more than warranted repeat honors in Road Racing. They won four times last season against stout competition not just from their Corvette Racing teammates Johnny O’Connell and Ron Fellows but against the two-car team from Aston Martin Racing. Gavin and Beretta also won the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the third straight year with Jan Magnussen.
Risi Coming Back For More in 2007
Fresh off a championship-winning effort in 2006, Risi Competizione’s plans for the 2007 American Le Mans Series are well under way. Already the Houston-based team is planning on not just returning to defend its championship but to increase its efforts with two brand new Ferrari 430 GT Berlinettas.
