Penske Racing

After a long anticipated debut at Laguna Seca in 2005, with a class pole and class victory, Penske Racing will field two Porsche RS Spyders for the 2006 season, in the LMP 2 class. Sascha Maassen and Lucus Luhr will pilot the number 6 Spyder. Joining in a second entry will be Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas, both in the number 7 machine. Penske Racing history is rich in USRRC and IMSA tradition, winning the 1967 USRRC championship in 1967, and the 1972-73 CAM AM championships. More than 20 years later, Penske has reentered the sports car racing arena, again at the highest level, fielding this two-car team with Porsche.
