Coming off an outstanding 2005 season, Intersport is ready to defend their LMP 2 championship, against the likes of the powerful Penske Porsche Spyders. The team ran a new Lola B05/40 AER and won five times in class with Jon and Clint Fields, Liz Halliday, and Gregor Fisken. Young Jon Field, who is now the team’s owner, became the Series youngest prototype champion in 2005. For 2006 Clint will team with Halliday for the entire season, with father Jon filling in for longer races.
Eager to step up and face a new challenge in the American Le Mans Series, Intersport Racing has officially announced its move to the LMP1 class for 2007. The Dublin, Ohio-based team will field a Judd-powered Creation CA06H prototype for all 12 rounds starting at next month’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
The American Le Mans Series’ most successful female driver ever, Liz Halliday, heads to round seven of the championship this weekend at Road America, Elkhart Lake (WI), straight after competing in two horse-riding competitions in the UK at both Wilton and Aston-Le-Walls.

This weekend, LIZ HALLIDAY returns to Le Mans for the official test day that forms the prelude to the world’s most famous endurance sports car race.
Liz and teammates Clint Field and Duncan Dayton will each pilot the Intersport Racing Lola in their bid to capture the LMP2 class victory at the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The race, scheduled for June 17-18, will be televised worldwide, with United States coverage provided by SPEED Channel and throughout Europe by MotorsTV.

American three-day eventing rider and sportscar racing driver Liz Halliday continued her 2006 winning streak today, taking the LMP2 class of the Lone Star Grand Prix with team mate Clint Field and top privateer racing team Intersport Racing. Following their LMP2 class success in Sebring in March, Liz Halliday’s and Clint Field’s second win in as many races, again beating the two mighty works Porsches, mean that they have extended their lead in the 2006 Drivers Championship whilst Intersport Racing has also extended its lead in the Teams’ Championship. To complete her success of the day, the organizers awarded Liz the Founders Trophy - an award given to privateer drivers. Her fifth career Series win means that she ties for the most victories by a female driver in the American Le Mans Series.
