PitJournal.com has been covering the American Le Mans Series for the past two years and will have very limited coverage in the future. Joe Martin has moved to the Last Turn Clubhouse and will be doing photography and occasional writing in 2007. Thank you for your support and visiting the link below.

Welcome to The Last Turn Clubhouse, a new motorsports destination. Here you will find in-depth written and high quality photographic coverage of road racing – and some open wheel oval racing – in North America. We hope also to be something different, a place of commentary - sometimes acerbic, sometimes witty – always insightful. Importantly, a place with no axe to grind, and no piper to pay.

We are launching The Last Turn Clubhouse with coverage of the American Le Mans Series, along with Tim Northcutt’s Open Wheel News and Views. In due course, we will add separate coverage of the Champ Car World Series, the Indy Car Series, and the Rolex Sports Car Series. Planned content will come on line here over the next weeks, focusing first on the American Le Mans Series’ opening event, the famed 12 Hours of Sebring. American Le Mans Series images throughout the season will be primarily provided by photographer Joe Martin, along with galleries by special guests.

In addition to race week coverage, We’ll bring you regular articles on the technology, the business, and the sport of racing – powertrain, chassis, and aerodynamic design, team and track economics, driver and team performance – from contributors with expert knowledge. If you’re planning a race weekend, The Last Turn Clubhouse will give you ideas on where to eat, stay, and play.

The Last Turn Clubhouse won’t be entering the web-site contest to see who can most quickly post the latest news releases. We’ll give you a summary of the important happenings in each series and tell you what’s being said by the sport’s insiders. That doesn’t mean we won’t be on top of breaking news. If it’s important, we’ll deliver it as soon as we can give it proper coverage. So if you see it on one of those press release sites, check in at The Last Turn Clubhouse to read what it means, and what the sport’s important players are saying about it. The Last Turn Clubhouse will a have real letters-to-the-editor section with helpful, entertaining, and readable give and take.

We were tired of inane forum chatter. We were tired of press releases and politically correct commentary. We thought this sport should benefit from the same kind hard-hitting and entertaining coverage you read in your home-town sports pages, and the in depth articles you’d find in a weekly or monthly magazine. We believe fans want clearly written and insightful race reports, thoughtful commentary and intelligent discourse.
