B-K Motorsports has announced that they will return to the American Le Mans Series P2 grid starting with the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta and will finish out the 2006 season at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
These two final events of the season represent special opportunities for the Mazda rotary power that is in the Courage C65 package B-K has been campaigning since early 2005. The grueling Petit Le Mans event - where the rotary’s reliability will be given its chance to shine - and Mazda’s home track in Monterey, Calif., are key targets for the program. The team will compete with the same 3-rotor (R20B…Renesis-based 3 rotor) powerplant (engines for these two events will be prepared by SpeedSource Engineering of Sunrise, Fla.) and the Courage C65 chassis to close out this season. The driver lineup for the final two events will continue to include 2005 American Le Mans Series Co-Rookies of the Year Jamie Bach and Guy Cosmo, with the announcement of a third driver for the Petit Le Mans potentially coming with in the next week or so.
In addition to getting ready for these two final events of the season, B-K has been putting the finishing touches on all the details of its 2007 American Le Mans Series P2 campaign. Complete details of those plans will be announced in a separate release and special announcements in the coming weeks.
