Fresh off a championship-winning effort in 2006, Risi Competizione’s plans for the 2007 American Le Mans Series are well under way. Already the Houston-based team is planning on not just returning to defend its championship but to increase its efforts with two brand new Ferrari 430 GT Berlinettas.
While the team hasn’t confirmed a two-car assault for 2007, that clearly is the direction in which it would like to go. Talks are also ongoing with Ferrari about dedicating two of its top sports car drivers for the entire season and the class championship chase, say team officials.
In 2006, Risi used upward of 10 drivers to win four times and the GT2 team championship.
