The Flying Lizard No. 45 and No. 44 Porsches are fifth and ninth, respectively, on the provisional grid for the Labor Day Grand Prix of Mosport. However, once the final grid is complete, the team anticipates that they will start from third and sixth positions. This is the result of three GT2 cars having to start from the rear of the grid because their drivers were unavailable for the practice sessions, which is required by IMSA regulations.
The Audi “works” drivers Allan McNish (Scotland) and Dindo Capello (Italy) will start their Audi R10 TDI from the front row in the eighth race of the American Le Mans Series at Mosport (Canada). Due to heavy rain, the 20 minute qualifying on Saturday was cancelled. For Sunday’s starting grid, the organisers took into account each car’s best lap time achieved in any of the three free practice sessions on Friday and Saturday. The ALMS championship leaders Allan McNish and Dindo Capello will sit next to the Lola drivers and 2005 Mosport race winners, James Weaver and Butch Leitzinger, on the front row. Their Audi team-mates Frank Biela (Germany) and Emanuele Pirro (Italy) start the race on the 2.549 miles circuit, located about 60 miles east of Toronto, from sixth place.

Rain washed out qualifying for the Mobil 1 presents Labour Day Weekend Grand Prix of Mosport on Saturday, putting James Weaver and Dyson Racing’s No. 16 Lola on pole position for Sunday’s eighth round of the American Le Mans Series.
Romain Dumas apparently isn’t content with just one track record at Mosport International Raceway. The Frenchman went under the LMP2 qualifying record on Friday and posted the fastest time during a two-hour test session for the Grand Prix of Mosport in his Porsche RS Spyder.
